Where to go in Japan?
My first ever travel to Japan has been an amazing experience. I'm travelling SOLO, I can't speak Japanese fluently, but I still enjoy it!
For my first travel, I choose Osaka. Why Osaka? Well, because my friends said that Osaka_and the cities near it_has a lot of historic related sites and fill with Japanese culture as well. Besides Osaka, I went to Nara, Kobe, Kyoto, and Koyasan. Those four city are in Kansai Area but in the different prefecture, and you can reach those city from Osaka around 1 hour, except for Koyasan that need approximately 2.5 hour to reach there.
Osaka
Osaka itself has a lot of place to visit, there is Osaka Castle, Tsutenkaku Tower, Shinsekai, Dotonburi, Kuromon Ichiba Market, Hozenji Temple, Umeda Sky Building, Temporizan Feris Wheel and there's still plenty of place you can visit. You can choose whether you like to shopping, culinary or only just for sightseeing.

Nara
Nara is the city of deer, because there're a lot of deer everywhere you go. Even when you go to the Todaiji Temple, you still can see them in the front gate of the temple. However there is no deer near the Kasuga Taisha Shrine, which is also located in Nara. You can take an hour of train to get here from Osaka. If you like to walk, you can reach those place by foot, or if you feel tired you also can take the city bus.

Kobe
Next is Kobe, which is famous by its Kobe Beef, you have to taste it when you get there, even there are some of the restaurant that also selling Kobe Beef. However I cannot tell you which one is better because I just ate one in Kobe. In Kobe you can go to visit Kitano Ijinkan, is a place with a dozen of the former mansions, it feels like you are abroad in the western area, however there is an admission fee for each house that you have to pay. If you choose just to strolling around the area, that also would be fine. Besides Kitano Ijinkan, Kobe have Meriken Park that is locate near the Kobe Port, so you can enter the Meriken Park and reach the Kobe Port by foot.

Kyoto
Kyoto, is a city that famous because there are a lot of historic sites, and I really like it too!! From the famous Fushimi Inari Taisha, the beautiful view from Kiyomizu-dera, Kinkakuji, Kyoto Imperial Palace and also some shrine and temple. Besides those historic sites, Kyoto have a place called Gion and Ponto-cho, which is Kyoto's quintessential geisha quarter, if you lucky enough you can meet the geisha:)

Koyasan
Last one is Koyasan, which is UNESCO World Heritage. I just find out this place, from another traveler that I met at Okonomiyaki Chitose (this is a must eat place in Osaka). Actually, Koyasan also a home to unique cultural and historic assets. I just know this later that Koyasan was inscribed in the World Heritage list in 2004 as part of the Sacred Sites and Pilgrimage Routes in the Kii Mountain Range. Koyasan also got three-star rating from the Michelin Green Guide Japan.

Konpon Daito |
In Koyasan there are plenty historic building that you can visit. You can reach every place by bus, so it's very recommend that you buy one day ticket pass, or if you already have the Kansai Thru Pass, you will fine with it. You can reach Kongobuji, Konpon Daito, Daimon, Okunoin and the other place by bus or if you like to walk in the city, you can do so.
I've spent 8 days in total in Japan, minus the first day and the last day, because I didn't go anywhere on that 2 days. So, I travel for 6 days to those place, one day tour to every place, except Osaka, which I spent one day more than the other place.
So, these are the place that I visited in Kansai Area, most of them is a beautiful place that represent Japan culture and history. I really enjoy my time in Japan and sure will come again in the future.
Hope this post can help you to plan your travel to Japan, especially Kansai Area.
Do you have any recommendation place to go in Japan?
